Description

It can grow 0.5-3” across. Often brown in color, as it ages the edges will fades to a lighter golden white color. Gills are grey in color darkening with age. The hollow stipe can grow 2-6” tall & 0.2-0.5” thick. White in color and yellowing with age. Brusing purple blue. With a tryptamine content of 0.5-+1% in dried specimens. Often seen in pastures, saprotrophic, dung loving. Seen from Feb to Dec in the Northern Hemisphere & Nov to April in the Southern Hemisphere. Look alikes; Protostropharia semiglobata, Stropharia coronilla
